Samaritan’s Fellowship is dedicated to protecting the rights and dignity of Pakistan’s marginalized communities.
Our mission is Peace, Freedom, Justice, Equality, and Empowerment for all.
We speak for the freedom of people from social differences, injustice, modern slavery, extremism, religious intolerance, persecution, and poverty.
The School of Democracy is a structured civic education and leadership development program designed to strengthen democratic culture, constitutional awareness, and civic participation among youth and marginalized communities in Pakistan. Implemented by Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation, the initiative directly addresses democratic backsliding, political exclusion, and civic illiteracy at the grassroots level. This program moves beyond theory by equipping participants with practical knowledge, leadership skills, and tools for active and responsible democratic engagement.
Pakistan faces persistent challenges in democratic consolidation, including:
These gaps undermine democratic institutions and weaken citizen trust in governance.
Although Pakistan’s Constitution clearly prohibits slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking (Article 11), thousands of families are still trapped in bonded labour, especially at brick kilns (bhattas), agricultural fields, and factories. Most of them are poor minority families who take small loans but are later forced to work for years — sometimes generations — to repay unfair debts. This is modern-day slavery. Pakistan has several fragmented laws, such as:
However, Pakistan still does NOT have a dedicated and comprehensive Modern Slavery Law. Existing laws are weakly enforced, victims have no legal protection, and there are very few rehabilitation mechanisms. As a result, many families remain stuck in abusive, exploitative, and inhumane working conditions.
Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation (SFFP) is a rights-based, civil society organization dedicated to enhancing the participation of marginalized communities, particularly religious minorities, in Pakistan’s democratic and civic life.

Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation has a proven grassroots presence in Pakistan, with extensive experience in community development, minority rights advocacy, and democratic empowerment. The organization combines local credibility with transparent governance and donor compliance.
Additionally, SFFP follows a train-the-trainer model, enabling program graduates to replicate sessions in their communities. Digital learning tools and local partnerships ensure scalability and long-term impact beyond donor funding cycles.
It is a project by Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation aimed at rescuing families trapped in bonded labor at brick kilns in Pakistan. The initiative provides safe shelter, education for children, livelihood support for adults, and protection from abuse and exploitation.
Entire families working in bonded labor, especially children who are denied schooling and women who are at risk of exploitation, benefit directly. Every rescued family gains freedom, safety, and opportunity to live with dignity.
Modern-day slavery includes situations where individuals or entire families are forced to work under threat, with no fair wages, and are unable to leave due to debts, coercion, or violence. In Pakistan’s brick kilns, families work for years or even generations to repay small debts, often for sums as little as $800–$1,300.
Families are forced to work together — parents, children, and even elderly — yet wages are counted as if for only one person. Debts grow every year due to withheld wages, interest, or deductions for emergencies, leaving families trapped in generational slavery.
Workers may face physical abuse, threats, killings, and abductions, especially if they question unpaid wages. Women and girls are particularly vulnerable to kidnapping and exploitation. Families are sometimes bought and sold between kiln owners, perpetuating the cycle of oppression.
For just $800–$1,300, a whole family can be freed from generational bonded labor, provided with livelihood support, and given the chance to rebuild their lives.
These families live without education, healthcare, or basic rights. Immediate intervention can rescue families, restore dignity, and break the cycle of slavery for future generations.
